SUMMARY:The Behavioral Health Workforce: The Impact of Opioid/SUD Overdose Loss
DESCRIPTION:This is an 8 -hour virtual training. The class will meet on : \n\nThursday April 6th\, 2023 from 8:30 am -1: 00 pm and\nFriday April 7th\, 2023 from 8:30 am-1:00 pm\n\nNote: This training is delivered virtually via Zoom. Participants must have access to both audio and video connection\, have adequate wi-fi\, preferably on laptop or PC. Full 8-hour attendance is required for those seeking continuing education credits. \nThis training is approved for: \n\n8 hours towards CARC Electives or CRPA/CARC renewal CE’s by NYS ASAP-NYCB\n8 hours towards re-credentialing for CASAC\, CPS or CPP’s by NYS OASAS\n8 NYS SOCIAL WORK CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis training is designed to address traumatic Opioid/Substance Use overdose loss and its impact on the behavioral health workforce (Addiction Treatment Professionals\, Mental Health professionals and Peer Recovery Professionals). \nThe training will : \n\nexplore the scope of the Opioid/SUD overdose epidemic\nprovide overdose prevention/risk management and postvention strategies\nprovide an overview of grief and traumatic loss impact\, types of grief/losses including disenfranchised grief and factors that impact grief reactions.\nexplore the impact of these losses on clinicians and peer professionals and provide an understanding of compassion fatigue\, vicarious trauma\, and burnout.\nconclude with exercises and strategies to increase self-compassion\, self-care/wellness and provide participants with a variety of tools that they can bring back to their work settings.
