The Behavioral Health Workforce: The Impact of Opioid/SUD Overdose Loss

$175.00This is an 8 -hour virtual training. The class will meet on :
- Thursday April 6th, 2023 from 8:30 am -1: 00 pm and
- Friday April 7th, 2023 from 8:30 am-1:00 pm
Note: This training is delivered virtually via Zoom. Participants must have access to both audio and video connection, have adequate wi-fi, preferably on laptop or PC. Full 8-hour attendance is required for those seeking continuing education credits.
This training is approved for:
- 8 hours towards CARC Electives or CRPA/CARC renewal CE’s by NYS ASAP-NYCB
- 8 hours towards re-credentialing for CASAC, CPS or CPP’s by NYS OASAS
- 8 NYS SOCIAL WORK CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS.
This training is designed to address traumatic Opioid/Substance Use overdose loss and its impact on the behavioral health workforce (Addiction Treatment Professionals, Mental Health professionals and Peer Recovery Professionals).
The training will :
- explore the scope of the Opioid/SUD overdose epidemic
- provide overdose prevention/risk management and postvention strategies
- provide an overview of grief and traumatic loss impact, types of grief/losses including disenfranchised grief and factors that impact grief reactions.
- explore the impact of these losses on clinicians and peer professionals and provide an understanding of compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout.
- conclude with exercises and strategies to increase self-compassion, self-care/wellness and provide participants with a variety of tools that they can bring back to their work settings.
