Community Sparkplugs Program by TRI

Northeastern Community Action Partnership

What is a sparkplug?  A Sparkplug, as defined by TRI, is an adult or young adult with a passion to make things better. They are moms, dads, students, retirees, farmers, teachers, store clerks, kids, and entrepreneurs. Despite their differences, they have one thing in common – they would rather do something about a problem than complain about it.

Rensselaerville Institute is currently accepting applications for the 2020 Sparkplug program and are looking for adults or young adults who are doing, or want to do, great things in their communities or schools.  Those chosen to be Sparkplugs are awarded a stipend to help support their project or program. This is a great resource for school resource officers, school counselors and community members.  Rensselaerville Institute’s goal is to work with local citizens to improve the lives of individuals throughout Albany County.
